Travel NoteSolution

Tablet PC

  • Make sure GlyphMaker is installed on the tablet.
  • Scan or photograph books from which you want to take notes, and copy the scans or photos onto the tablet.
  • Grab stuff off this website and your hard disk and copy it onto the tablet.
    • Copy wordlists from this Wiki onto the tablet.
    • htdocs/wiki/wiki.d: about 9MB of data files.
    • Stuff from karig.net/p:
      • notes-and-projects: 103MB (including 83MB of PDFs in the "reading" subfolder).
      • old: 4.5MB or so.
      • unorg: about 15MB.
  • Install a RAM disk to save wear and tear on the hard drive if you read files more than you write to them.
  • Redownload EmEditor and install it onto the tablet. Set it up to save settings to INI files, and copy it and its DLL files into the RAM disk.
  • Projects:
    • EmEditor macro to take filtering criteria from the currently selected text and to generate from that a temporary document containing only the records that match those criteria. (Version 1: Match only records that contain the phrases given.)
    • Translate classTextile.php into an EmEditor macro, using regular expressions to replace markup with HTML.

Housecleaning

  • Scan all of your books into the computer and save them as PDFs.
  • Rip all of your CDs and save them as MP3s or audiobooks.
  • Rip all of your DVDs and save them as movie files.
  • Scan all of your loose papers into the computer and save them as PNGs.
  • Throw out anything you don't use.
  • Sell your old Media PC. (I paid $1100 for it on May 2006.)

Emmegan

  • Work on Azarennya:
    • Work on the database file, and the PHP script used to query records from it and display them on the web page.
    • Work on clause markers.
    • Work on radicals.
    • Work on the script fonts -- one suitable for printing in PDF, and one that shows how the script is handwritten.
